Steve Witherden, Chair
Labour, Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr

Steve Witherden was first elected as MP for Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr in Juy 2024. Prior to his election, Steve was a teacher.  He is currently a  member of the Welsh Affairs Select Committee.

Matt Bishop, Vice-Chair
Labour, Forest of Dean

Matt Bishop was elected MP in 2024.  He was a Labour councillor on Forest of Dean District Council and and Education Welfare Officer before entering Parliament.

Lord Storey, Vice-Chair
Liberal Democrat

Lord Storey has been a Liberal Democrat Peer since 2011 and the party Spokesperson on Education, Families and Young people since 2013. He has previously held positions as a councillor and Lord Mayor of Liverpool, as well as extensive experience as a teacher, deputy headteacher and headteacher of several primary schools.

Baroness Hooper is a former Education Minister and Member of the European Parliament.  She currently serves as President of the British Educational Suppliers Association and Government Trade Envoy,
